Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 1, 2025
At TableCopy, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. Because TableCopy is designed as a privacy-first tool that processes all data locally in your browser, our approach to data is fundamentally different from most web services.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information We DON'T Collect
TableCopy is designed to respect your privacy. We do NOT collect:
- Personal information (name, email address, phone number, postal address)
- Usage data or browsing history
- Location data or device fingerprinting information
- The content of tables you copy or convert
- Any files or data you process using our tools
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, we collect basic technical information that your browser automatically sends:
- Web server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page) - These logs are automatically deleted after 30 days and are only used for basic analytics and security purposes
- Google Analytics data (with anonymized IP address) - You can opt-out using browser add-ons or by disabling JavaScript
2. How We Use Information
2.1 Core Processing
TableCopy is a client-side bookmarklet. This means all processing happens directly in your browser. When you click the bookmarklet, JavaScript runs locally on your device to extract tables from the webpage. No data is sent to our servers.
2.2 No Data Storage
We do not have databases to store your data. We cannot access, view, or retrieve the tables you've converted. Once you close your browser or navigate away from the page, the processed data is gone from our systems forever.
3. Data Processing & Location
3.1 Client-Side Processing
All TableCopy operations are performed 100% locally in your browser:
- Table extraction happens on your device using JavaScript
- File conversions (Excel, PDF, etc.) are generated locally
- No data is transmitted to external servers during processing
3.2 No Server Transmission
The only time our bookmarklet communicates with external servers is to load the initial script. After that, all operations are completely offline and local to your browser.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
4.1 Essential Cookies
We use minimal cookies and local storage only for essential functionality, such as remembering your language preference. These cookies do not track your behavior or collect personal information.
4.2 Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This helps us improve our tools and content. Google Analytics may collect information about your browser, device, and approximate location. You can disable Google Analytics by using browser extensions or adjusting your browser settings.
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 CDN Services
We use third-party Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to deliver static assets like JavaScript libraries and fonts. These services may log basic technical information, but they do not have access to your personal data or the content you process.
5.2 Analytics
As mentioned above, we use Google Analytics for website analytics. Google's privacy policy applies to the data they collect. You can review Google's privacy practices here: https://policies.google.com/privacy
6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR/CCPA)
6.1 Your Rights Under GDPR (EU Users)
If you are located in the European Union, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). However, since TableCopy does not collect personal data, most GDPR rights are not applicable:
